Chicago police have issued warnings about burglars targeting homes and businesses on the Northwest Side in July.

There have been at least six home burglaries since July 13, with an unknown number of burglars stealing electronics, jewelry, cash and other items from the homes.

The home burglaries occurred in the following locations:

• • 5500-block of West Edmunds Street on July 13, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

• • 4300-block of North Monitor Avenue on July 16, 2017 at 2:10 a.m.

• • 4800-block of North Central Avenue on July 21, 2017 at 9:30 p.m.

• • 5400-block of North Lynch Avenue on July 25, 2017 at 12:45 p.m.

• • 5000-block of North Major Avenue on July 25, 2017 between 1- 5:30 p.m.

• 5600-block of West Leland on July 26, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.

Police have also issued a warning about a series of garage burglaries on the Northwest Side.

Police said the burglars kicked or pried open the overhead or side doors and in some cases the doors were unlocked. The burglars then took construction tools, bicycles and vehicle wheels.

The garage burglaries occurred in the following locations:

• • 4800-block of West Strong Street on July 17-18, 2017 between 6:30 p.m. – 5:15 a.m.

• • 4800-block of West Berteau Avenue on July 20, 2017 between 6- 8:30 p.m.

• • 7000-block of North Mason Avenue on July 20-22, 2017 between 1:00 a.m. – 4:25 p.m.

• • 4800-block of West Ainslie Street on July 26-27, 2017 between 6- 12:15 p.m.

• 5400-block of North Nagle Avenue on July 29, 2017 between 12:01- 11:00 a.m.

Police have also issued a warning to businesses on the Northwest Side in July.

There have been at least seven commercial burglaries this month, police said, in the following locations:

• • 3400-block of North Central Avenue on July 11, 2017 at 12:30 p.m.

• • 6000-block of West Belmont Avenue on July 12, 2017 at 5:18 a.m.

• • 4200-block of North Milwaukee Avenue on July 14, 2017 between 9 – 11:00 p.m.

• • 5600-block of North Cumberland Avenue on July 21, 2017 at 3:44 a.m.

• • 5100-block of West Belmont Avenue on July 23, 2017 between 4:35 – 4:40 a.m.

• • 8100-block of West Higgins Road on July 26, 2017 between 5:50 – 1:14 p.m.

• 4400-block of North Milwaukee Avenue on July 27, 2017 at 2:50 a.m.
